What will happen if the world ends tomorrow?

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it’s self."

Matthew 6:34

We like to do just the opposite don’t we? Sometimes it’s silly things- What am I going to wear? What am I going to do? How am I going to get this done? When am I going to get that done?

Then other times more serious things- Where I am I going to college? Who am I supposed to marry? Where am I going to live?

Supposedly in December 2012 the world’s going to end. I personally don't believe so. Although, some do believe it.
In Mark 13:32 it says-

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father

Comforting, Hugh? So basically we know the world will not end some time in December 2012. Or any other time we think it is, for that matter.

But don’t get me wrong- don’t put your feet back on the table and flick through the TV. Just because we don’t know when it’s coming, doesn’t mean its not going to come. If Jesus is going to come back in a decade will you be ready? How about a year? A month? A week?
What about tomorrow? What about today? What about right this very second as your reading this? Hmmm?

I don’t want Him to come back when I’m yelling at my sister, watching something I shouldn’t watch or even playing a game. I hope when Jesus comes back I’ll be praying, or singing praises to Him or helping someone in need or at church.

Scary thought Hugh? We all assume we’re going to be ready when he comes back. But will we? Or a more important question: Are we ready? He could come back today.

Luke 18:8 "However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

To God alone be the glory.

The Future

I think about my future a lot. Being a teen I have my whole life ahead of me. I have to learn how to drive, get a job, do high-school work, decide where to go college, ect. I get worried and stressed sometimes thinking of all the stuff I have to get done in a couple of years. And what if my choice on what to do isn't the right one?

I've learned to take comfort in Christ. This verse has helped me: "All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." -Psalm 139:16. It is my new favorite verse. God already knows what path in life you are going to take. He already planned it. These things do not take Him by surprise.

God holds the whole world in His hands and He holds our future. We need to trust God.

To God alone be the glory.
